Hello! Welcome to my 2nd grade page! I love seeing my students learn and be successful in the classroom. This will be my eleventh year teaching. I previously taught two years at Kemptown Elementary, and I am excited to continue teaching at Urbana Elementary this year. This will be my second year teaching second grade. I graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2007 with a degree in Elementary Education and certification in Middle School Mathematics. Then, I continued my education at the University of Pittsburgh by taking courses in reading instruction. I completed my Master's degree in Reading Specialization at Hood College.
I am originally from Scottdale, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. I moved to Frederick County eleven years ago to begin teaching. I currently live in Frederick with my husband and son, Ethan. Outside of school, I enjoy going camping, waterskiing, and reading. I enjoy going to the beach each summer. Of course, I cheer for all of the Pittsburgh sports teams!
